Written by Sarah Kane
Directed by Sarah Benson
Synopsis:
A middle-aged journalist, Ian, and young woman, Cate, enter a hotel room. As private and public violation collide, their world fragments around them. Acknowledged as the most provocative and influential British playwright of her generation, in her landmark play BLASTED, Sarah Kane, with startling imagery and bleak humor, forges a potent theatrical vision of destruction, collapse, and ultimately, redemption and love.
NEW YORK TIMES:
"As impeccably staged by Sarah Benson and acted by a three-member ensemble with the bravery of hang gliders in a storm, Ms. Kane’s fierce study in the human instinct for inhumanity still registers off the Richter scale. "

NYTHEATRE.COM:
"In creating these scenes, director (and Soho Rep's artistic director) Sarah Benson does not spare the audience from its unrelenting violence, although she maintains the tension and dread throughout. The cast, all New York stage veterans, is remarkable. "

amNY:
"Still, "Blasted" remains a raw, horrific work that is not meant for anyone with a weak stomach. But if you're up for the challenge, it's a gripping theatrical experience portraying the shock and awe of the warzone. "

NY POST:
"I can guarantee two things about "Blasted," the literally explosive play by Sarah Kane. The first is that you'll be utterly repulsed by what you see - the other is that there's no way you'll ever forget it "
